Fast food needs to slow down. It seems food deliverymen(快递员) are always in a hurry. They wear blue, red or yellow helmets and many of them don't follow traffic rules. They drive on the wrong side of the road and run red lights. They use mobile phones while driving.
In China, many deliverymen drive dangerously. These careless behaviors have caught the public's attention. In the first half of 2017, food deliverymen had 76 traffic accidents in Shanghai, according to Shanghai Public Security Bureau. That means every two and a half days, a food deliveryman will die or get hurt on the road.
What makes deliverymen take such risks? The strict rules of the food delivery service companies and the anxious customers may be the answer. Many companies will fine(罚款) a deliveryman up to 2000 yuan, if he fails to deliver an order on time, reported China Daily. Fines also go to those who get bad reviews from customers.
To solve the problem, food delivery service companies need to improve their incentive systems(激励制度), noted CRI Online. Some cities are also taking action. Shanghai has asked companies to train their deliverymen on traffic rules and safety. Now in Shenzhen, if a deliveryman gets caught breaking traffic rules more than twice, then he will be banned from driving food service delivery E-bikes for a whole year. 19. Chantek was no ordinary orangutan. He was one of the world's first apes to learn sign language(手语).
In 1979, when Chantek was a 9-month-old baby, he came to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in the US. Researcher Lyn Miles led an unusual experiment there. She wanted to teach Chantek like a human child.
The scientists then taught Chantek sign language. He learned at least 150 words in American Sign Language. He even came up with his own words, including \"tomato toothpaste\"for ketchup(番茄酱). He was also taught other basic human skills, such as using a bathroom and cleaning his room.
Chantek stayed at the university for eight years. He sometimes even walked to classes with students. But in 1986, Chantek ran away from his place and scared a student. People had to send him to an animal center. He spent 11 years there, living in a cage and becoming fat and unhappy.
Chantek moved into Zoo Atlanta in 1997, where he could finally go outside and swing from tree to tree. The zoo said the orangutan often used sign language to \"talk\"with his caretakers. But he was too shy to do it with strangers.

As the English poet John Donne wrote, “___________”. Human beings are social creatures (生物) ----we all build different relations with others.
But as teenagers, we are going through a time of great personal change, where we are trying to find a sense of self-worth and broaden our horizons (视野). Our relations with parents, friends and teachers may also change. These relationships might become closer, more supportive, or more stressful.
During this period, it’s important to develop healthy relationships. This will increase our confidence, give us the courage to try new things and provide us with care. Moreover, it will lead us to become better people when we become adults.
Forming and keeping good relationships is never easy, as there are lots of things that can go wrong. Some of our parents will disagree with our ideas. And there will be times when we don’t know how to express opinions that are different from those of our friends.
We might also care too much about what others think and have trouble saying “no” to their requests. If we are class leaders, it’s likely that we will have to choose between satisfying our teachers and keeping our classmates happy.
In these cases, we need to use some social skills. For example, learning to put ourselves in others’ shoes. Strong communication is also helpful. In the following pages, we’ ll tell you more about how to develop comfortable relationships through the stories of five different teenagers. These teens may be struggling (艰难地应对) with the same challenges that you are. Read their stories and learn how to build better relationships with others. 27.
